Warner Bros have delayed ‘Jupiter Ascending’ Film to Feb 2015.
Although the producers have been working round the clock on the sci-fi epic, audiences will have to wait longer to get a look, reports the Hollywood Reporter. The film was initially slated to be released on July 18th this year and the reasons for the unprecedented postponing haven’t been given. However, insiders have said that the movie’s debut date had to be pushed forward to allow more work to be done on special effects.
The movie has reportedly been funded with a budget of more than $150 million. The summer release date has traditionally been used to release new movies while the February date has previously been set aside to debut movies which have run into trouble during production. The audience will obviously be disappointed, but this would only be seven months before they see it. Maybe it is better that way because they will be getting to see something that has been worked on properly.
The film stars Channing Tatum, who acts as a genetic hybrid, wants to offer a helping hand to a woman called Jupiter Jones (Mila Kunis). Jupiter is a young woman with low paying job who just discovered that she might eventually rule the universe.
It is worth noting that it is Andy and Lana Wachowski, who produced the epic Matrix trilogy that made more than $450 million in profit. The siblings have also been responsible for Speed Racer and Cloud Atlas, which have not been as successful as the Matrix. Hopefully, ‘Jupiter Ascending’ will be another success story. But we just have to wait and see.
