Warner Bros. have just completed handing out the release dates for Inherent, Entourage, Vice and The Intern. It has also issued the new dates for the upcoming Conjuring 2 (October 23, 2015). Other films whose release dates have been announced include How to be single (Feb 12, 2016), Mean Moms (May 8, 2015) Annabelle (October 2, 2014).
Conjuring 2 is a sequel to the 2013 thriller Conjuring. The Conjuring film is an adaptation of Thomas Pynchon’s 1970 novel where detective Larry investigates the mysterious disappearance of a former fiancée.
Conjuring 2 doesn’t have a director at this stage, but it is clear that James Wan will not be directing it. It is obvious that Conjuring 2 doesn’t have any direct competition at this stage. The release date is exactly one week after Crimson Peak debuts. The Conjuring writers will start writing the script in July although it remains unclear whether it is Patrick Wilson or Vera Farmiga who will star the movie.
Mean Moms that may be directed by Jennifer Aniston will be released on May 8, 2015, and will be directed by Beth McCarthy-Miller. The film sandwiched between Mad Max: Fury Road (Warner Bros) and Avengers: Age of Ultron (Marvel), is based on Rosalind Wiseman’s book where a married mother get exasperated by the mad world of competitive parenting after moving from a small town to a swanky suburb.
How to be Single will have to battle it out against Gods of Egypt (Liongate) and Untitled Pets project (Universal) on February 12, 2016. The new romantic comedy, based on Liz Tuccillo’s book, is likely to be directed by Lily Collins.
It is still not clear whether or not the untitled horror film project by Warner’s Bro is, in fact, Annabelle that was derived from The Conjuring.
